Passion, Motivation, and Wisdom
I am the director of a group child care home. Today, a three year old boy noticed the legs of the child sized kitchen table as he was leaving for the day. He asked his mother what they were. When she informed him that they were the tables legs, he asked her if the table was going to walk away? I love the way children think, the questions they have, their grasp of reality. The life of a child is full of wonder, sometimes exciting, sometimes scary.

Mary,
ReplyDeleteI too delight in the way children think and the questions they ask. They take everything so literally. I am sad to see my children growing up and losing their cute little baby talk ways! My youngest, who will be 7 on Sunday, calls exhaust pipes rehaust pipes and it is the last thing he says wrong and I know I should correct him yet I don't. Even at 7 and 8 my children will still come up with some off the wall ways of seeing the world and I absolutely love it. My 7 year old's biggest question so far has been, "why do we go to school for 5 days and only get 2 days off, that is backwards".

Amy,
ReplyDeleteI love your sons theory on school days! I have been teaching my preschool class the Days of the Week, and they want to know why they can't come to "school" on Saturday and Sunday. I am sure they will change their tune when they are older.

Amy,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mary when they get older they will change their tune.. I work at a center thats located on church premises so one day the pastor of the church and owner of the center came into the center and one of the students stopped and looked in awe asking " Are you God"? We thought that was the most adorable thing. Yes children says just about anything they are thinking.
